Blasted Church Vineyards Sauvignon Blanc, Skaha Bench, BC
Readers rated this wine:
Fresh, texture, purity.
Blasted Church was established in Okanagan falls 20 years ago. It was named for a mining camp church which was torn down (with the help of explosives) and rehomed to the Falls in 1929. The labels tell many colourful stories.
This cloudy golden-toned skin-contact Savvy, which is part of the Small Blessings tier, was fermented in clay concrete eggs for 45 days then moved to neutral French oak for 8 months.
Expect lemon tea and grass clippings, start fruit and faint lime tones. It's zesty with good purity. It has some angularity and notable texture with a zesty, tea leaf and pithy finish.
